Nagaland Police today launched a mobile application named ‘Call Your Cop’ to enhance communication between the police and citizens.

Developed by Excellogics Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd, the mobile application was formally launched here today at PHQ by Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP), T John Longkumer.
Longkumer said that the mobile application will enable all citizens to easily get in touch with the police.

He said that the application has been developed with high security provisions and will be difficult to hack. He urged the people to reach out to the police through this user friendly application and also sought their cooperation. He said that the launch of the app is a beginning towards interactive communication between the cops and the public.

He also said that Nagaland Police will work hard to ensure that this year, the Hornbill Festival is crime free.

Manoj Kumar, SP (Crime), Nagaland Police said that technology is becoming a vital tool in helping law enforcement agencies prevent and fight crimes effectively and also to serve citizens in a better way.

He said that Nagaland Police has undertaken various technological initiatives like e-patrolling, formation of district cyber crime cells etc. He stated that the development of the application is one of the most important initiatives taken by Nagaland Police to bridge communication between the police and the citizens. “The mobile application users can reach to any of the police officers across the state in finger tips,” he said.

Zhavi Nagi, Business Development Manager of Excellogics Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd said that ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile app is simple and robust, which will have the contact numbers of all Nagaland Police officials. It features directory, alerts, tourist tips, SOS and emergency numbers, nearest police station etc. Nagi said that the purpose of the app is to provide a single repository for storing contact information of all Nagaland Police human resources.

From this app, one can also search for the nearest police station with an interactive map. “With this app, you can also receive notifications like news, updates, advisory, etc,” she said.
